CHAPTER 16 — The Rebels
INT. MINISTRY OF DESIGN - BERG'S OFFICE - DAY
ZIN and ZOO are going into BERG's office. They pretend to be asked to do so.
INT. MINISTRY OF DESIGN - CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS
They leave through the cleaning door and head towards the Bistro.
INT. THE BISTRO - DAY
BIJOU is working and is surprised to see them both.
They agree to meet VJ later at The Mirror Club. The twins move on.
INT. THE MIRROR CLUB - DAY
The twins arrive at The Mirror. The bouncers open the doors (no problem).
The twins sit down in a VIP area with DIDGE, waiting for BIJOU. WINI gives them drinks for free.
AS WINI SETS DOWN THE DRINKS, SHE PAUSES. LEANS CLOSER TO ZIN. SNIFFS.
You smell different.
What?
_(looking at ZIN more carefully)_
She didn't shower.
WINI AND DIDGE EXCHANGE A LOOK. A QUICK ONE. IT MEANS SOMETHING TO THEM. THEY DON'T EXPLAIN.
The twins explain to DIDGE what has happened. DIDGE listens carefully and when WINI comes to the table, DIDGE whispers to WINI.
VJ is working and flirting with SIOUXY. ZIN doesn't seem to care about it.
BIJOU stopped working in the Bistro and arrives at the club.
PING arrives and seems to have business with WINI.
The rebels hang together at the bar, discussing and nodding, looking towards ZIN and ZOO. The rebels trust the twins.
PING takes ZOO's communicator number.
WINI stops working and leaves with PING. 10 minutes later BIJOU leaves with DIDGE. VJ and SIOUXY are leaving the club. ZIN waves good night. ZOO doesn't understand.
ZIN and ZOO are the last guests. They have to leave.
EXT. DOWNTOWN - NIGHT
The twins walk to the empty downtown. Sometimes they say a word. Their bond seems to be stronger than ever before. Their lives have changed.
